DVees creamy avocado prawns and plantain delight

H2 and I absolutely loved this meal, I actually think its now my favourite dish as it combines ‘dodo’ (fried sweet plantains) with king prawns which I adore. My only regret was that the rest of the Vs didn’t partake of this meal.
DVees Signature dish: Creamy avocado prawns and plantain delight

Serving suggestions
as main course – fill baked avocados with prawn mix and serve with fried plantains.
as hor d’oeuvres- prawn avocado plantain bites – place one prawn, a slice of avocado and tomatoes on each plantain chip and serve

  1. I am hosting guests this weekend and wanted to serve this as the hor d’oeurves. Please can you post the recipe? Thank you ladies.

    1. Recipe:
Do you have raw or already cooked (pink) prawns?

Ingredients are king prawns – 250g or 16 king prawns, double cream – 75ml, finely chopped onions – 1 small onion and 5 quartered cherry tomatoes. Chopped parsley to garnish.

Method: sauté onions in butter until translucent, add prawns, add tomatoes, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt or to taste and cook for 5mins or until prawns are pink if using raw prawns, add cream, (optional: can add a dollop of ketchup) and simmer for another 5mins. Serve.

      To set up canapés:
Put dodo at the bottom, sliced avocado, a prawn, a teaspoon of sauce and sprinkle with parsley. You can use cocktail sticks to hold together if they can’t stand on their own.

Please let us know if you have any questions
